The Food Park will also feature live music and outdoor movie nights in a relaxed backyard-like setting.  To help kick off the Food Park, Good Karma Kitchen, YES! Taco, Nammi Truck, Lee’s Grilled Cheeses, Red Jett Sweets, and Jake’s Hamburgers will serve up their specialties at the Park’s Grand Opening. The Gary Kyle Band will provide live music and there will be free beer from Rahr & Sons Brewing Company. The Opening event is from 6:00 pm-10:00 pm on Friday, December 2^nd.

Initially, the Fort Worth Food Park will be open every Thursday for dinner and every Friday-Sunday for lunch and dinner, although it is expected that the Park will eventually expand to a full-week schedule.

Last week, nearly 300 guests celebrated Indulge Magazine’s 6th anniversary with an evening under the stars on the rooftop pool deck at Montgomery Plaza, one of Fort Worth’s premier upscale urban living residences.
“Here in Fort Worth, Indulge represents everything about the finer things in life, from luxury living and fine dining to high fashion and design,” said Denise Elliott, sales manager and broker of record for Montgomery Plaza. “We were thrilled to be able to host the publication’s anniversary celebration and showcase Montgomery Plaza as the perfect backdrop for an evening of high style and luxury.”
Luxury vehicles from Autobahn Motorcar Group lined the red carpet entrance to the event. Hors d’oeuvres were passed courtesy of Del Frisco’s restaurant, Montgomery Plaza’s own WineStyles provided a wine tasting and cocktails were served throughout the evening, including the event’s signature “Indulgent Chocolate Razberi” created with Stoli Vodka. The highlight of the night was a fashion show under the stars featuring evening attire styled by Susan Huston Concepts and provided by Dillard’s.
“When picking a venue to host our anniversary celebration, we needed a place that represented what a luxury lifestyle is all about,” said Indulge publisher Baker Haynes. “Montgomery Plaza was an ideal location, with its breathtaking views of downtown Fort Worth’s skyline and magnificent roof-top pool deck.”

The exhibition transcends dollar-bill iconography to reveal George Washington as not only a soldier and politician but also a land surveyor, a farmer of scientific inclinations and an aggressive entrepreneurial businessman. The show also explores Washington’s views on religion and slavery, in addition to the influence of his wife, Martha Washington. Life-size figures of Washington, developed through forensic science, combine with video productions, historic artifacts, intricate architectural models and interactive displays.

Discover the Real George Washington is presented in 11 sections, ranging from Washington’s youth to his final days. Artifacts include paintings, books, maps, surveying equipment, Revolutionary War armaments, tools used by slaves, and presidential table settings. Mrs. Washington is represented by original jewelry, pieces of china, silver, and glassware, and reproductions of her gold wedding dress and purple satin slippers. An indicator of popular appeal lies in the knowledge that more than a million people visit Washington’s home, Mount Vernon, Va., every year.

The visiting exhibition marks a milestone in the steady emergence of the Fort Worth Museum of Science & History as a national attraction.

The work, Woman Standing, Holding a Fan, was created between 1878 and 1879, and depicts a woman in a long green dress standing beside an armchair. The painting is considered important because it is one of only two known canvases painted by the artist almost entirely in the medium of distemper, a mixture of water, paint, chalk and adhesive, rather than the more conventional oil paint. The painting also represents a key moment in her transformation into an Impressionist.

Now on view at the Amon Carter, the painting was purchased from the Wildenstein Gallery in New York in honor of the museum’s board president, Ruth Carter Stevenson, and to celebrate the institution’s 50th anniversary. Acquisition funds were provided by Anne T. and Robert M. Bass, The Walton Family Foundation and the Council of the Amon Carter Museum of American Art.
